Message from the PTA: Asda Cash Pot for Schools

Help us access quick and easy funding for school!

  • £1 just for downloading the ASDA rewards app
  • +0.5% of your spend every time you shop until 30th November.
  • All without impacting your personal ASDA cashpot!

Asda is making millions of pounds available to donate to primary schools across the UK through their ‘Cashpot for Schools’ initiative. To support our school, all you have to do is opt-in through the Asda Rewards app, shop and scan in store or shop
online at Asda.com. Between 2nd September and 30th November 2024 – every time you shop with Asda using your Asda
Rewards app, Asda will donate 0.5% of the value of your shop to your chosen Primary school. Also, every time somebody opts-in to support our Primary school, Asda will give an additional £1 to the school Cashpot. Plus, it doesn’t stop there – Asda are also giving £50 to every school to get them started.

It’s as easy as 1,2,3

  1. Download the Asda Rewards app, register and opt-in to Cashpot for Schools (make sure you have the latest version of the app installed)
  2. Choose our Primary School, either searching by name or postcode – Dunnington Church of England Primary School, Pear Tree Lane, YO19 5QG
  3. Shop instore across Asda and George, or online at Asda.com and start filling your Cashpot as you shop

Asda does the rest, all money raised will be donated to schools to spend on the things they need the most. We are aiming to spend our donations on improving the library facilities in school. Remember, anyone can sign up – so start spreading the news to family & friends and raising funds for our school. This initiative is on top of the existing Asda Rewards benefits you get as a shopper – so you won’t lose out on any of your own earnings or Cashpot, so everyone is a winner! PTA Disco & Uniform Sale

We are really looking forward to our Christmas Discos on the 20th December. The PTA will have a second-hand uniform sale set up for the duration of the disco, where you will be able to pick up uniform for a small donation.

If you have any pre-loved uniform that you wish to donate to the sale, please drop it off at the school office. Please ensure it is clean and that any name labels have been removed/crossed out.

Messages from the PTA

The PTA will be collecting any unwanted second-hand school uniform next week. If you could send any items in nearly-new condition to the school office, it will be offered out for donations on the evening of the school discos.

Please remember to send in your coloured hamper donations, raffle ticket money and unwanted raffle tickets by Monday 10th July at the latest. The raffle will be drawn on Tuesday 11th July.

Click here for details of the school discos. Please do not allow children to bring mobile phones with them.Dunnington PTA

Sports Days

Thank you to all who were able to support our sports days. The weather was  kind to us and a great time was had by all. Thank you also to the PTA for providing the children with a much deserved and welcomed ice lolly, after all their hard work. The combined house scores for sports day in ascending order were:
Terry – 69 points
Rowntree – 92 points
Tuke – 104 points
Making Craven house the overall winners with a huge 155 points! Congratulations to all representing Craven house!

PTA News – minibeasts in EYFS

This half term, EYFS are focussing on minibeasts and with some of our PTA money, we have been able to order a butterfly garden and some live caterpillars. These arrived on Monday lunchtime through the post and the children were really excited to meet their new friends! They are still very small, but are very wriggly and the children have enjoyed watching them and using the magnifying glass to study them! We are hoping they will all transform into beautiful ‘Painted Lady’ butterflies that we can release before the half term holiday.EYFS
