Year 6 were invited to visit York Minster and to meet the Archbishop of York as part of a Mission weekend which ran from 28th – 30th September. The Archbishop had toured all 21 deaneries across the Diocese of York to celebrate the good news of God’s Love. The mission weekend marked an end to the tour and encouraged people to come and learn more about the Christian faith. We felt very privileged to be involved in this event. The format for the morning included the following:
- A welcome and tour with York Minster’s Learning Team
- Questions and Answers with the Archbishop
- A ‘Crypt and Candles’ act of worship and reflection time
- A self-led trail in the Minster
We all had a wonderful morning…particularly enjoying the question and answer session with the Archbishop of York!
